My Feet Stink! How I Fixed My Smelly Feet

My Feet Stink - Fix Smelly Feet

Hello Everyone! So after a couple of really long and really busy days, my feet stink! Well… they did stink. My feet don’t stink now. I wore the same shoes for 3 days without socks. This made my feet really stink, even after washing them. In this article, I will tell you exactly how to fix your smelly feet from what I call “Perma-Stink” feet.

Feet Have Sweat Glands

Feet have lots of sweat glands. When you reach puberty, they can really go into overdrive. Especially if they’re trapped in shoes all day.

Then, not only do your feet go into overdrive sweating, but then you don’t wear socks because your shoes don’t look cute with socks. Then there’s nothing to help absorb the sweat and stink. Your feet literally sit and marinate in that stinky sweat and begins to just smell awful.

First, try these easy preventative tips to help keep your feet from stinking or beginning to just smell awful.

Six Tips to Prevent Stinky Feet

1. Wash your feet every single day. Dry them carefully. Be sure to get between your toes really well.

2. After washing your feet, use a “foot deodorant” or a non-toxic absorbent powder. Many people use talc, but research suggests that there may be health risks to long term use of talc powder. I recommend using a corn starch based baby powder. The theory is, if it’s based on a food, and they put it on babies… well… hopefully it won’t hurt me. If it does, they are hurting babies too 🙁

3. Wear clean socks (or even tights) every single time you wear shoes. Yeah I know… I already said I didn’t do this because my shoes don’t look cute with socks. But that doesn’t mean I can’t include it as a tip to keep your feet from stinking. Because really… it helps prevent smell feet.

4. Wear socks with all natural fibers that allows your feet to breathe and stay dry. Breathable cotton socks can really help keep your feet dry and therefore help keep you from having stinky feet!

5. Utilize Foot Liners with built-in desiccation and deodorization. These foot liners will actually absorb moisture. Lots of it. Some of them will work for months. We can thank chemistry for this gift to our feet.

6. Go barefoot whenever possible. This has to be one of my favorite tips. Many parents and adults try to overprotect their children by always making them wear shoes. This can lead to not only stinky feet, but also to foot fungus. Oftentimes, foot fungus can be very harmful, uncomfortable, painful, and hard to get rid of. Being barefoot is natural and allows your feet to breathe and stay dry all the time.

My Stinky Feet Potion – How to Get Rid of Smelly Feet

Now that we’ve covered some prevention, we will discuss getting rid of that horrible smell after you allow your feet to get stinky! This can even get rid of Perma-Stink! Try this fabulous foot spray to keep feet smelling sweet!

This is a type of Tea Tree foot spray that I make myself.

Tea tree oil has natural antibacterial properties. Also, you know how we talked about how fungus likes to grow on your feet? Well… tea tree oil is also considered an anti-fungal oil that is very powerful against athlete’s foot and other dermal infections (dermal means skin).  The lemon juice is acidic and is used as a natural preservative for your Stinky Feet Potion. Essentially it keeps the other ingredients from oxidizing.

Ingredients

4 teaspoons (or 20ml) of fresh lemon juice

5 tablespoons ( or 75ml) of vodka / ethanol

4 tablespoons (60ml) of distilled water (filtered is fine too)

2 drops of lemon essential oil (be careful with this stuff when concentrated)

5 drops of tea tree oil

Mix this all together in a spray bottle. Shake well before each use.

Use this treatment every morning and every night to clean your feet. Thoroughly spray your feet and allow to sit for 60 seconds. Then wipe off with a towel. Do this after washing your feet during bath time! Do this every day until your feet no longer stink. You can also continue to use it as a prevention for stinky feet.

After trying this out, let me know how it turns out in the comments below. Thanks for reading.

Why Do Press Releases Fail More Often Than Succeed

When the clients write news releases, they simply haven't followed the media response to enough news releases to learn the errors that are made. They haven't yet learned what the mistakes are, so there is no learning from continuous improvement.

I have actually seen a great deal of news release failure over the years, and I now understand precisely what the major issues look like and the best ways to take care of them.

I'm quite harsh on my clients, since their success is all that matters. My review procedure can injure a lot of highly inflated egos of a few otherwise very experienced individuals, on the way to a problem free news release that maximizes the possibilities for success when finally sent. Lots of people think they can write a news release.

I have an absolute obsession with this issue. I have certainly transmitted more than a thousand news releases in my profession by way of internet posts, social media blasts, and email. You probably think that I've got news releases failing on me day in and day out.
Actually, I don't. The news releases I send and write out for people do quite well. Because they are successful with their outreach efforts, my clients are quite happy with me.

It's the draft news releases that individuals send to me that are my issue.
Taking care of the issues I see in the news releases a lot of people give me takes a long time. It is also extremely unpleasant.

My predicament as a publicist is that I spend a great deal of time educating my clients attempting to get them to understand the psychology of dealing with the media.

It gets even tougher when another professional publicist wrote the news release for the client. Now the client is getting opposing advice from two professionals.

My life will be significantly improved if my clients send me news releases that take less time and energy to fix. Very simply, for each and every news release that comes in and doesn't have these problems, I'll free myself to spend more time doing things that are more profitable for my clients and me.

The problem is that when people send me news releases, it frequently takes a long, very long time to recognize and discuss the concerns, and afterwards additional time once again to explain and discuss all the word adjustments with the customers, and even more time still to wrap up the news release and have it ready and approved for transmittal.

I've sent out over a thousand news releases in my career by way of internet posts, social media blasts, and email. The rubber meets the road in the news release because this single sheet of paper is the key nexus for all communications with the media. It gets even tougher when another professional publicist wrote the news release for the client. You didn't tell the media what you want them to do with your news release. You won't get rich off one news release.

Listen to your publicist. Heed these warnings and reduce the risks of failure. Fail to pay attention to these issues, proceed at your own risk.

Often times, the quality may be there while the numbers are not.

One or two quality media responses may be what you need or want. It's a success if you get that.

You wrote about how your news ties in to someone else's fame and glory. Tell your own story.

You may simply have to be realistic and understand that while you are wildly interested in the topic, it may not have the broad general public interest that you have for the subject. Think again if you wrote an article that has local interest and you expect national media to pay attention.

You are trying to be different, just for the sake of it, but you come off eccentric. Forget it.

You are the center of attention, not the media audience. You focus on your business and your marketing, instead of things the editor and his or her audience will be interested in.

A Message to All the Young Women Out There

A Message to All Young Women. Never Settle.

Never settle … for anything… in any aspect of life or love.

You should always listen to your mother. She is rarely wrong and will likely be among the only people in life who will tell you the truth regardless of whether you want to hear it . You will fight with your family, often, but forgive quickly and genuinely. Family is a blessing in life. They are made up of everything that makes you. They might be the only family you have by your side.

Find a good man. You will know he is the right one when you eventually realize that no man in life will compare to him. And no one will love you as unconditionally as he does.

Do everything in your power to achieve that life you can see right in front of you. Now you might be surrounded by the skeptics and haters, but remember that they don’t know you.

One day you will love truly. One day you will love deeply. Because when you love, you give everything.

You are going to make some terrible mistakes in life, with boys, and with friends. You may always be poor. You may always be a mess. But life is messy and you have to roll with the punches. Never run from an adventure. Embrace the unknown and remember it is never too late to change. You will change so much in this journey we call life. The only constant is change. It is going to be just wonderful.

God Bless You … You Beautiful Mess.
